About Half Light Theatre
Our name, Half Light Theatre, has a number of meanings. Half light refers to the excitement and mystery felt by the audience (and performers) when the house lights dim for the beginning of a performance. In nature, half light is one of many names for the fleeting, beautiful moments before sunrise or after sunset, when light isn’t seen as much as it is hoped for… or remembered. Finally, half light reflects the duality of the human experience, in which darkness and light must and do interact, with the understanding that one cannot exist without the other, that light can be destructive, and that darkness can be the home of the good.
